Postcard 8

Coast Fork of the Willamette River at Cottage Grove, a river crossing for wagons, can be seen on the lower left.

This photo was used in the 1909 Cottage Grove book that was published by Sunset Publishing to entice people from around the nation to settle in Cottage Grove. It’s hard to imagine what it was like before bridges, especially in the winter. Do you know a name of one of the early bridges over the Coast Fork of the Willamette in Cottage Grove’s early history?
